WorkZone multipurpoe saw
This saw was purchased some time ago in Aldi for £29.99. It is described as a multipurpose saw and it can cut a wide range of materials including wood, plastic, aluminium and steel. I had a sheet of 2.5mm steel sheet that was salvaged from an old oil tank and, prior to purchasing this saw, I was cutting it using a hand held jigsaw. This was slow, noisy and it was difficult to cut a reasonably straight edge. With this new multipurpose saw it is very quick to cut the sheet steel and also easy to guide the saw against a straight edge. The big yellow button at the front of the saw locks the blade if you need to replace it.
This shows the label on the saw. The blade has a fixed protrusion from the base of thesaw and this limits the depth of cut to around 35 mm. The claimed cutting capacities are 35mm for wood and plastic. 20 mm for aluminium and 3-6mm for mild steel. I think these capacity figures are a little conservative and I have cut 8mm steel with no problem. The saw appears to be made in Austria.
The saw blade is 110 mm diameter and the tooth shape ia as shown in the photograph. This tooth shape is almost the same as the teeth on the Evolution range of multipurpose saws that currently sell at a much higher price.
In use the saw produces quite hot steel chips when cutting steel and I would be wary of using it indoors.

In summary, I am impressed with this economically price saw. It does everything that it says on the packet and a little more.
