My workshop

The workshop is very small occupying an area of 2.1 x 2.8 m within a large wooden out building. The building is well insulated but unheated. The workshop area is divided off from the rest of the building by chipboard partition walls and a plaster board ceiling. All the walls and the ceiling are insulated. When used in the winter the workshop is heated with a 1KW fan heater that will maintain a comfortable temperature whatever the weather.

The  lathe

The Clarke  lathe. This is a 7 x 12 minilathe made by Sieg Industries.

The milling machine

The Sieg X1 micromill. This was purchased from Arc Eurotrade and came with a long milling table.

The drill press.

This is a cheap Powercraft drill press purchased from Aldi. It is made in Austria.

The bandsaw.

Picture
This is a 6 x 4 bandsaw purchased from Axminster. This is not actually in the workshop because of its size. It is located just outside the workshop area.

Bench grinder

Picture
The bench grinder was purchased from Aldi. The grinding wheel was very badly balanced when purchased. I remade the clamping shaft and washers, and fitted a new wheel. It runs more smoothly now.
